Buy Plugins – from the right account
During the recent Black Friday Sales our group purchased multiple versions of the same license for distribution around the group. Problem, they were purchased on one account, not the account fro the specific station hey were to be used on.
Without a plan for a network roll out and users are also the people who install software (I know, bad idea) we had to educate them how to get the license in, then install.
At this point I was actually surprised how many weren’t geeks of any description, even for audio.
2 have been done so far, and this lead to this post (to come) about the right people in the right job.
The company bought multiple versions of the same plugin from Waves in the Black Friday Sale.
They have many different locations, each has a Waves account, so they can be administered locally. These 11 versions of One Knob were purchased on the one account, not even on one of the accounts that was going to have the plugins…
You can see where I am going here …
When the serial number were issued to the locations, they didn\’t work.
Lesson learned, even if you want to pay for them all in one go, buy them separately on the accounts you are going to use them on. You\’ll save the stress of transferring them, and here in Australia, the 24 hour turnaround from support from Waves in Europe.
